Republican pollster Jan van Lohuizen, in a memo written for RNC chairman Ken Mehlman, warns that if members of Congress try to drive a wedge between themselves and Pres. Bush, it'd be akin to adding weight to an anchor. GOpers are "W Brand Republicans" whether they like it or not. And van Louhizen, who has polled (often secretly) for the Bush White House under the RNC aegis for years, is worried about low turnout.
Time Magazine first reported on the memo this weekend, but the full text is below.

"Typical"
Wow. I sit in awe of your wit.
"When the dems unfortunately do take back the office I will be in 100% support of the impeachment of this president."
Hear, hear! I agree 100%
Have you noticed how Bush1 and Bill Clinton have become best friends? They were both working for the same goals. Bush2 is right on the same track.
Yep, you got that right.

For the crime of violating the oath of office -- to protect and defend the Constitution of the US. If he honored his oath -- if any of them did -- we'd have a very conservative (that is -- limited) government.
Only by violating the oath and the Constitution can you get to the place we are now.
I don't know you well enough to hate you. I reserve that amount of energy and emotion for a very few.
I do thoroughly disagree with your viewpoint, but i appreciate your politeness. I apologize if I was less than gentlemanly in questioning your sanity. Not for questioning it, mind you. Only the manner in which I did it. ;-)
Feel free to question my sanity any time. Sanity questioning is good for one's soul, even If you end up with the same position in the end. I do try to stand back and evaluate my sanity every now and then, with varying results. ; ).
Hope we meet up again...and next time on the same side of whatever issue it is that we are all feeling passionate about. You are a much easier to have as a friend, then a foe.
See what you're doing? Now you're gonna make me want to love you.
LOL
And yes, I can be your best friend and you don't want me as your enemy. (With apologies for stealing a USMC slogan.)
Now, how great is it that a conservative pollyanna and a conservative badray can end up friends thanks to our man JimRob.
Ok. Now I am going to have to go have something salty to eat because all this love and sweetness is really, really starting to make my teeth hurt.
For a so called academic you talk like a 14 year old. And with a similar level of thought.
Don't mind zook.
He's hated me since I called him out on what a phony he is. Preaching the virtues of national downward mobility from a cushy guaranteed job for life.
And 30 years ago barracks of generals and foreign policy 'experts' were singing hosannas to Imperial Iran. Ten years ago they would have been singing hosannas to the great love the Saudi people have for America. The sort of people you cite so approvingly have been consistently dead wrong about Muslims for quite some time now.
If you believe that the Shiites feel the barest shred of gratitude to America I have a bill of sale for a bridge for you to sign.
Only time will tell how grateful they will be.
In the meantime I suggest you read Sandrat's and Gucho's and and Wiz's threads a little more often and lighten up on the NY Times and the anti-Bush threads. Give you some perspective.
Here's a couple examples...

"House passed budget cuts and Democrats opposed it, wanting bigger spending; they passed immigration reform without amnesty and Democrats opposed it"
"WHAT ARE U TALKING ABOUT. THE REPUBLICIANS ARE THE M A J O R I T Y. THE DEMOCRATS ARE THE M I N O R I T Y."
Yes and the House Republican majority passed a tough immigration bill, the Sensenbrenner bill, with Democrats opposed.
Yes and the House Republican majority passed $79 billion in spending cuts, with Democrats opposed.
That's what I'm talking about.
The Democrats + RINOs have a majority in the Senate, which makes conservative bills in the Senate difficult if not impossible, but the House at least can pass out conservative bills.
One every single issue the whiners complain about, the Democrats are far far worse.
If we impeach everyone who violates the Constitution in the slightest, we'll have no one to fight for us. Even our Founding Fathers ran into legality issues from time to time. If we looked close enough at even the best Presidents this country had, we'd still find unConstitutionality problems.
You don't win a war by executing your generals.
Thanks for helping to expose him.
Find these words for me in the Constitution:
Education
Entitlement
Social Security
Medicare
Foreign aid
Where is the authority to restrict firearms? Free speech?
None of these things are minor infractions. At what point would you start 'executing the generals'? If you show the political will and moral courage to shoot execute the first one, it won't happen again so soon.
Making up is always the best part, right?
Potato chips or salted nuts? Be careful how you answer. Our future together depends on your answer.
