RNC Memo Warns GOPers Not To Distance Themselves From Bush

Republican pollster Jan van Lohuizen, in a memo written for RNC chairman Ken Mehlman, warns that if members of Congress try to drive a wedge between themselves and Pres. Bush, it'd be akin to adding weight to an anchor. GOpers are "W Brand Republicans" whether they like it or not. And van Louhizen, who has polled (often secretly) for the Bush White House under the RNC aegis for years, is worried about low turnout.
Time Magazine first reported on the memo this weekend, but the full text is below.

You can't handle analogies, metaphor, that kind of thing? You never listen to Walter Williams? Never had an econ class? I guess I overestimated the mindset of people here.

Remember, it's metaphorical lettuce. Metaphorical lettuce *always* costs more than the regular kind.

Thanks for the ping. I see the bootlicker brigade has jumped in too! The Amnesty that Reagan was forced to accept in order to get employer sanctions turned 3 million illegal aliens into 12 to 15 million. The amnesty that Bush is pushing will make it 50 million or more. The RNC is dooming itself by importing future Democrats.
If your QB was running the wrong way you would tackle him, that is the position we face now. The RNC-bots look upon conservative votes as an entitlement program, no party is entitled to anyones vote.
Did you ever read a book titled "Camp of the Saints?" It is about France being overrun by million of refugees from India. The day before they arrive a "bring it all down" hippie type is overjoyed at the prospect of seeing the society he hates being brought down. Another guy tells him something like "at least I can enjoy my last day in the old France" and he then kills the hippie.
America will be destroyed by the Bush amnesty, at least I would be able to see the misery of the bots if the RNC was kicked out of power in November. I remember in 1994 I was so happy when the GOP won congress, if the Bush amnesty is passed I will root for their defeat. Voting for an amnesty is a vote for a future Democrat majority anyway.
At least we could enjoy some tantrums from you know who!
"You're a BAD MAN! A very BAD MAN! You disagreed with President Bush! You know what that means?"

I don't want to be a farmer. I'd really rather pay the guy who hires Mexicans.

"I am aware of that operation. I was referring to the bad guys doing it."
If they've done it by now, and we don't know about it, they could well be sitting on it, just trying to figure out where to use it. Frankly, we don't know what's been done up until now, and if the FBI or others have arrested people carrying nuclear or biological weapons across the border, I seriously doubt you or I would ever learn of it. That's the kind of thing that would be kept extremely quiet as long as possible.

SWill that be before or after they ban the New Media, take away your guns, impose thought crime, and open the borders to let all the illegals in?
Are you talking repubs or dims?
Isn't it sad I have to ask?

I agree but my opinion was well though out over time.Less and less politicians representing me . most are SELF SERVING SCUMBAGS, on BOTH sides. There are few if any real statesmen left.

I'm sure you're right. Lots of people seem to be zeroing in on the "picking lettuce" thing, but that was just a symbol of all the goods and services provided by illegals.

We can disagree but we ALL must stick together to defeat the Dems againThat's true. As upset as I get at the Republicans and Bush over some issues I will never vote for a Dem. NEVER!

Would you also have your cotton come cheaper if we found nearly-free labor in, say, Africa?

I'll pay the difference in the cost of the head of lettuce with tax cut windfall that would result from not having to subsidize millions of third-worlders up to a first-world standard of living.

So will ushering the DEMs to power as "protest" or "punishment". IF we sent the DEMS packing permanently in 06 and 08, everything else is easy as pie.

I hear you, but I actually think we'll get a better handle on our borders and on limiting illegal immigration by taking a realistic approach to this problem. I sincerely think that the President's approach is reasonable, assuming it's combined with a literal tightening of the borders.

Then why am I forced to pay taxes to support America if its only a market place in a global economy. Especially when my President is actively trying to find third worlders to take my job, because ofcourse Americans don't want tech/engineering jobs.

The RNC will get nothing in return for amnesty. Those that get amnesty will not vote Republican.
I live in CA and if the illegals get amnesty, the state will never go back to (R). The closest CA will be (R) is the (Rino) gov we have now.
