Just got back from listening to Rush online...and I am a bit perturbed...so please excuse my ignorance...But Rush said something about the politicians being afraid because they didn't want to alienate the hispanic community because they will lose their votes...(talking about the big demonstation in LA this week)...
I always thought that you actually had to be a citizen of the US in order to vote in our elections...am I missing something...are these people voting in our elections even though they are not citizens?
Please anyone...could you explain this to me?
You don't have to be a citizen to vote Democratic in most large American cities.
Loretta Sanchez was first elected to the House of Representatives in Santa Ana, CA, thanks to the illegal vote. Prior to the election an "immigrant" group registered illegal aliens and told them they could vote. Sanchez defeated longtime incumbent Bob Dornan.
And in the larger picture, I think what Rush was probably actually talking about was the vote of these illegal aliens after they are granted citizenship.
