Where to you live? I live in the middle of Mexifornia, I know exactly what the score is. You are right, most of the students are not going anywhere, because they are anchor babies! They are not illegal aliens, they are their children, and they have (Unconstitutionally) been given US Citizenship.

Now as for the illegals themselves, you are insane to want to keep them here. They will keep pumping out more anchor babies, who will grow up in the barrios and become reconquistas like all the Mexican flag wavers you see here. You would literally have to spend trillions of dollars to "assimilate them". You would have to give them an upper middle class lifestyle so they are not "oppressed". You would have to have an "anglo" around them almost full time to learn to become an "American".

The problem is, anglos are now a minority in California. So lets cut to the chase. Are you willing to spend half your income to assimlate all these anchor babies? Because that is what it will take.

You obviously haven't read everything I've written on this thread.

I don't want these people to stay. I'm merely concluding that they're not going to be sent home. So now what?

You would literally have to spend trillions of dollars to "assimilate them".

From which orifice did you pull that number from? It's in your tag line too.

How much money did we "spend" to assimilate the immigrants of the early 1900's, which came in a much larger number than we have in Californa now? Answer: we merely refused to accept them in jobs or on the streets unless they learned english and became americans. It didn't cost one thin dime, because the *people* who lived in this country assimilated the *people* who came here. No government program or government money, other than public schools, was needed.

The biggest obstacle to doing this is liberalism, and conservatives who can't get it out of their head that these people are illegal and want to punish them. I think they need punishment too, but I recognize that trying to do such a thing with a population of 10+ million is just not practical.

By the way, I lived in So. Californa until 10 years ago. Which means that when I go back the stark change into Mexifornia is even more obvious. I could care less what color people's skin is, but I do want them to be Americans. We have done a lousy job of assimilation there, and neither the left or the right is talking about doing it. My point is that the choice before us is assimilation, or being overrun.

Take it or leave it.
