I looked up the CA state Academic Perfomance Index (API)rankings of a few of these schools. If you couldn't guess, they all suck:

Montebello: 30 percentile
El Rancho: 50 percentile
Pioneer: 40 percentile
Whittier: 50 percentile
Marshall: 50 percentile
Blair: 30 percentile
Pasadena: 50 percentile

The other item they all have in common: large % of hispanic enrollment.
