There are some really ignorant trolls on this thread. When you pointed out the fact that Terri could breathe on her own because she wasn't brain dead, some troll accused you of being in favor of suffocating people. It's not possible to have a rational discussion with these people.
I just posted the same thing. Life after murder. And, freepers, don't be fooled. They live in a McMansion, a stately home with vaulted ceilings in a ritzy neighborhood. The St. Pete Times is trying to present an Average Joe. Michael Schiavo is no average joe. He's one connected Joe who offed his wife.

The Baylor Hospital's medical journal had a long article on brain-damage last fall. There are seveal types of damage with varying prognoses and symptoms. It's worthwhile to read some medical literature on such damage. Unfortunately, too many people (Bill Frist who should know better) are making diagnoses based on TV clips or on what they wish the case to be.

Where did you get the notion that the Schindlers moved away from the Catholic Church? They met with Pope Benedict, I think a few times.

Don't know about that one. BUT, we do know that two or three hours after Terri died, Michael and lawyer Deborah Bushnell raced to court to file papers claiming her estate. How Michael managed to conquer his racking grief long enough to ransack Terri's estate, I can't conceive. Could that have been the subject of the thread you heard?
Insurance did figure in the story early. IIRC, Terri received generous sick benefits from her employee health policy working for Prudential. Michael lived off her insurance for a year (I think it was) until the benefits ran out.
While I can go with you to a point on that one, Fr. Malinowski seemed pretty convinced that the Schindlers were faithful Catholics. Perhaps they confessed their sin(s) to him, and renewed their faith. That wouldn't be a contradiction, and it happens. God forgives a repentant person.

You must have misunderstood why I questioned your earlier post. In it you said that Terri "clearly used birth control prior to her massive weight loss which ended her normal fertility cycles". Terri's massive weight loss occurred before she began dating. Michael was her first date, her first kiss, and her first boyfriend. She was an innocent young lady. Why would she possibly take birth control pills before she even began dating? You're making no sense. Maybe you meant to write something different?
While on the topic, to your assertion as proof that she did use birth control pills, I say you must not realize that Terri was seeing a gynecologist to find out why she wasn't having success getting pregnant without using birth control. People do have fertility problems you know, and it is not always related to birth control. I have a number of friends who have had difficulty conceiving, and I know that for two of them, they never used birth control of any type. Surely you are aware of Sarah and Abraham's problem (biblical reference). I think it is perfectly logical to seek the advice of a specialist if you do not use birth control and do not get pregnant. Again, your assertion is speculation. You can call it reality if you want.
