I once had a girlfriend who lived across the street from an apartment with some not so discreet goings-on. Several black fellows that never seemed to go work, but spent much time running to the curb for a quick hello to their friends that would stop by at all hours, and never got out of the car.
One day they made some comments to/about her when she got out of her car to go into her house. I remember her being very angry and threatening a "WE-TIP" or some other such Crime Stopper anonymous type phone call. She was not just threatening.
A few days I heard a helicopter hovering low and went to the window and saw all of these guys face down in the street, cops everywhere, followed by a for rent sign.
Don't know if it was her call or not, but it sure couldn't have hurt.
It is going to take everyone cooperating to whip this problem. By that, I mean, citizens, city, state, and federal officials working together. Anyone who thinks that GW Bush can do it himself is nuts and BORING.
