"It's just me and the stockers then," he said, "and every once in a while somebody who needs a Swiffer at 2 in the morning."

I tend to be a bit of a night owl and I've been to Wal-Mart in the middle of the night. The things people buy in the middle of the night fascinate me.

I worked at a grocery store for a short while and sometimes people would come up with an odd array of items and I always wondered which one they REALLY came in for?

I'm surprised he could get away with it. I'm sure there are cameras all around.

Yep. Fortunately, I had relatives who we could stay with in Cannes and could help pick out a decent hotel in Paris. Also my high school French was still with me. Not in any hurry to return now.

LOL, the kid ate, slept, and used Wal-Mart's bathroom for days. Some security, huh! I wonder if their going to hit him to pay for what he ate?

When he had nothing better to do, he roamed the aisles, putting away items that were out of place.

He could have applied at a computer application terminal, been hired, trained, employed and paid for his efforts--as "working off the clock" is against corporate policy.

Then he'd have medical insurance to flaunt when Hillary the Demagoguess began one of her signature nagathons.

Wal-Mart. Always

"Interesting tale here - not sure how to take it."

He proved to society how valueable Big Business is. It can be the saviour of us all if we need stuff, or jobs or a place to hang out for 41 hours because we're losers. :)

Very true. But at least he didn't get drunk and kill, or impregnate, anyone. That is a good thing.

I dunno. This kid seems smart and resourceful. I think he'll turn out all right.
