I think it sets up a very awkward precedent if the majority leader substitutes his personal will for the will of the appropriate committee.

Frist's "bill" won't get anywhere, or will be filibustered by Harry Reid.

Which means Frist will have to bring up the committee bill. He will be thoroughly embarrassed.

Reid's objection is yet another reason, besdes the awkward substitution of leader will for Committee will, that the Committee bill will be the one taken up.

Frist is being coy about all this. The cloture vote for taking up "the" (whichever) immigration bill has been postponed to 2:15 tomorrow afternoon.

Oh, and hell is freezing over, and pigs are flying -- seeing as how I agree with you on something ;-)
