Are you following this thread? Reagan gave amnesty to the 2.5 million illegals who where here in 1986. A one time only deal! There were also serious employer enforcement provisions of the IRCA of 1986 that were undermined by Ted Kennedy and other Democrats. Illegal immigration is a problem that escalated out of control from the early 1990`s through today. Upwards of 5-6 million illegals may have come here since Bush43 took office.

Yes, I'm following the thread.

I followed it well enough to note you left off a certain President you admire, and now you justify the gift of amnesty because it is a part of his legacy. All in an attempt to slam everyone BUT one.

Guess what? Supposedly THIS President wants enforcement of the borders as well. Amnesty plus enforcement = similiar to Reagan's plan. Guess what? We still have the same Democrats and RINO's that made amnesty possible during Reagan's administration working to make this doable now.

I don't particularly care how you justify it. It was wrong when Reagan did it, it is wrong for Bush to call for it. It was wrong for 41 and Clinton not to enforce border control, it was wrong for Carter not to do so. It was wrong of every politician that has failed this issue and there is NO justification nor saving grace for not doing so.

I WILL grant that Reagan's ENFORCEMENT puts him a step above others, but he STILL signed allowing amnesty and I am NOT naive. He knew how washington D.C. worked. He KNEW it was not a one time deal when he did it. Maybe he hoped it would be, I don't know, but I don't believe Reagan was a stupid man. It was only a question of timing as to when the next amnesty would be proposed.

IF you expect me not to point out a deliberate omission on your part, forget it. I feel like pointing out the failures of every politician on this issue today. Especially as I see another country's flags being waved in my face in demands my OWN country bow down to them.
