Ethnic shape-shifting and intermarriage are certainly not new phenomena on this planet and certainly not harmful. But, in a way, this is being done by force and in a way that is contrary to laws that others must obey.

Your comparisons to European immigration is disingenuous, to say the least. Since 1965, Latino immigration has dwarfed any previous wave of immigrants, and in all probability, all previous waves combined!

Put another way, there are undoubtedly more illegal aliens from Mexico in California right now than all the Eastern European Jews who came here legally over a 100-year period. "Press 2" for Yiddish? I don't think so. The Chicago Election Ballot in Polish? Never happened.

If we were to stop all illegal immigration right now, we will still be a nation Latino enough for any man, it will just take longer. I mean, how fast can we marry each other?

I have addressed the issue of the use of absolute numbers before on this thread.

In any topic your are dealing with, be it science, manufacturing, agriculture, government, city planning, immigration, medicine, etc., etc., absolute numbers by themselves are meaningless.

If your Mom and Pop business made exactly $1 million in profit for the next ten years, you would be jumping for joy. If Microsoft made exactly $1 million in profit for the next ten years, it would be a business disaster of Biblical proportions.

For a 210 pound patient, X milligrams of Anesthetic Y before surgery won't touch him and he will be screaming in pain. For a 25 pound toddler, X milligrams of Anesthetic Y before surgery will kill him.

Likewise, in population dynmics, absolute numbers of immigrants are meaningless unless you relate them to the size of the toal population that is absorbing them.

In the year 2006, the population of the U.S. is almost 300 million and the number of "Hispanics".......which nowadays is used to describe everyone from the Mexican wetback who just swam the Rio Grande to the third generation American named Lopez serving in Iraq........totals 14% of the total population.

In 1900, the U.S. population was around 63 million and the number of European "foreigners", most of them being the poorest peasants that Europe had to offer, totalled FORTY NINE PERCENT of the U.S. population:

As I said before, uncontrolled entry of illegals, ANY Illegal, needs to stop. However, the issue should be phrased on the basis of law and order and on whether a prospective legal immigrant is coming to the U.S. for the right reasons and would make a good American and not based merely on the ethnicity of the legal immigrant and the fact that there are "too many Hispanics" in Miami and "too many Jews" in Miami Beach.
