Can anyone explain to me the McCathyite fetish with the Israeli Left in calling everything "racist"? Go on any Israel fora and you see"racist, racist racist..." I don't deny racism exists in the worl, but a conflict between Jews an Arabs can not be construed as racial. The two peoples are of similar racial stock! A conflict between white Dutchman and bantus would be racial, but between French and Germans, or chinese against Japanese would not. The traditional bigotry of arabs against jews- the dhimmi laws i.e. yellow badges, taxes prohibitions on synagogue building - certainly is prejudicial but not racist. So back to my original question, why does the Israeli left call everything racist? 1. is there no word other than racism in Hebrew? 2. are they that stupid? they can't use a dictionary? 3. are they so busy trying to copy the worst aspects of American culture that they use Al Sharpton as a role model? Does anyone know?

Is it just the Israeli left? I think it is reflexive for any leftist to utter the "R" word when encountering policies providing for the self defense of the prevailing functioning culture.

This fetish is inherent to individuals afflicted with the thought disorder behind the leftist political persuasion. Emotionally, they feel like a victims and thereby identify with so called oppressed victim groups ignoring the often causative link between their societal status and their relative cultura1 dysfunction. Basically, in a psychological sense, it is way of blaming others for your own problems.

What makes Lieberman think the Arabs would be agreeable to any large scale population swap? And any such transfer implemented by force would be unacceptable to the U.S.

Interesting article. The charge of "racism" is now used so regularly and so widely that it has become empty, just an epithet designed to change the subject and put an opponent on the defensive. That said, Lieberman's idea strikes me as having merit. I don't see how Israel can continued to harbor a fifth column of 1.7 fast-breeding Moslems.
