Years ago, I worked with a woman that fits your description. She bragged on her money, her parents money, her credit cards, etc. If she didn't get her way at work, she went out on disability. I found out recently that she was turned down for a management position that she wanted, she left her husband and he won custody of the kids, she committed suicide.
The parents of the girl in this prom story aren't doing their daughter any favors.
