Erma Byrd passed away early this morning. I had met her once during the 2000 election, and even then, she was a small, frail woman. She was quite pleasant, however. May God bless her and be with the senator in this sad time. No matter what we think of the guy, they were together for decades, and I am sure he loved her very much.

Too bad. I'm not on the same side as Byrd, but I'm sorry that his wife died.

God rest her and comfort Senator Byrd.

It's got to be rough losing someone after so many years together. It was hard on my granny after losing her husband of 60 years.
Prayers for the senator.

I hope it causes Byrd to retire. That's happened with other widowers.
Sorry to hear about Mrs. Byrd though. No doubt, living with that old bore all those years couldn't be too easy.

Poor woman. Most likely she was suffering if she had a long illness, so this was probably a release for her.
