As far as I can tell, they miss New Orleans, but don't think it will ever be the same again. Most feel that they have been well treated by their host cities; they're getting jobs and finding that, as much as they loved their old home in NO they do realize that there were problems there even before Katrina (corruption). They're seeing, many for the first time in their lives, that there is a decent world on the other side of the Ponchartrain. I don't think the majority will be going back, unless some really big progress is made, and quickly. The clock is ticking; the longer these people remain away, the more likely they are to become established in their new homes.

So, I think you would agree that the democrats are sort of inching into the position that they should HAVE to return. This is a non-winner of a position.
