A serious crackdown on employers of illegals would be far more effective than rounding up the illegals. Dry up the jobs and the illegals will deport themselves at their own expense. Stiff fines and serious jail time for the employers.

Agreed! Along with enforcing the borders. As a result, we would suddenly see less congestion of our roads, fewer overcrowded classrooms, an excess of affordable housing, accessible hospital emergency rooms, etc. In its absence, we have every city and state wanting to issue more bonds (taxes) for everything from schools to cleaning up the water supply along the Mexican border. It's not rocket science--where there is a will, there is a way. Unfortunately, there doesn't seem to be the will amongst our politicians.

I agree that border enforcement should accompany rounding up and jailing the employers. Put those employers and any illegals taken into custody in normal circumstances in tent city jails along the border. Put them to work building the fence.

an excess of affordable housing

FYI, this is often called a real estate crash.

Be careful what you wish for.
