A few comments:

Covered the Clayton Williams campaign. He was a very rich Texan running for governor against Ann Richards. Williams started with a 22 point lead, and lost the election. It was no bad that in the last three weeks the campaign staffers stopped referring to him as Clayton Williams. but Satan Williams, the Candidate from Hell!

That was after an entire campaign. Harris is trying to get into that position even more quickly.

Please don’t get me wrong. Love Katherine dearly. Maxed out my FTC-allowed contributions to her each cycle. My Granddaughter is named after her.

But this campaign is a disaster. The CD, PR person and Issues chief should all be shot!

I want an R to win. I want KH to win… but this is turning out to be a disaster!

Is any of this a media invention or is it really as bad as it looks?

Starting to look like Pirro 2 as far as organization.

Is this for real? I saw her on Hannity, and she made it very clear, in no uncertain terms, that her father's inheritance would be used in the campaign. Now, a few days later, she's retracting that?

I haven't joined the anti-Harris bandwagon here, but this looks awful.

Oh Jesus.

What a disaster her campaign has become.

She said it, so she should DO it. If she backtracks at all, she cannot be trusted with her word.

I have never seen a worse run campaign.

It must be grand to spend and unspend 10 million within 48 hours. Harris is a rather unhinged over wrought irrational impulsive and rather spoiled woman. There, I said it. Sue me.

2 things: 1) *IF* I was running for political office, which I won't because I can't suffer fools, 2) I *would not* use an inheritance of any kind to get elected.

If people didn't believe in me enough to support my campaign, I sure wouldn't force my way in off an inheritance.

Thank goodness. I was beginning to think she wasn't as smart as she looks.

I live in Sarasota, FL. In my local paper and from what I read on FR, the media has unleashed a very serious hate campaign on Katherine Harris. They use the same words they use on GWB (lack of Dim creativity, I guess) and obviously have some great fear that she could win in Florida.

Whatever, I'm sending her some $.

Sad to say but Kathleen Harris is prime kook material. A radio host down (Todd Schnitt) here (Florida) laid it all out and I know longer support her. He laid out how gawd awful she looks on TV and how flaky she is. It was cruel how he hard he lit into her but it rang true.

Seems like every weekend comes a new hit piece on Harris I'd say somebody is worried. She will win and the women will put her there.

The only word I can use to describe the Harris campaign begins with "clus," has a "terf" in the middle, and ends with "uck."

It WWII, the term was FUBAR.

Was that before or after Williams suggested women with PMS would benefit from deep-sea diving?

I'm sorry but I just don't think she's ready for prime time. If ever. She's kind of all over the place.

As I recall, Clayton Williams lost that election because of the joke he told about women and rape. Without that, I think he would have beaten Ma Richard handily. It was a stupid joke, and he should havae known better.

Just when you think it can't get any worse, something like this happens. She is starting to remind me of Jayne Mansfield at the end of her career.

I can only hope that after the campaign, Katherine Harris puts this behind her and finds peace and contentment in private life.

I don't love Catherine dearly - there's nothing to love. She has convinced herself that this is the right thing to do, and can't be talked out of it. Her supporters see her candidacy (and victory) as poking the eye of the liberal jackals in the media in government.

They have created a vision in their mind where Harris wins the Senate seat and they victory dance the night away. It isn't happening: those with clarity have recognized Harris as the poor and deficient candidate that she is.

Florida GOPers who supported her lunacy should be thanked for keeping that one Dem senate seat safe for the other side. But they can sleep at night, they tell me.

Harris needs to stay in Congress. The Senate isn't for her. She has done nothing but stumble in one instance after another.

We need a new Senate candidate.
