Campaign (Now) Says (Katherine) Harris Won't Turn To Inheritance.
Orlando Sentinel - harris Campaign ^ | Jim Stratton

In an effort to jump-start her sputtering Senate campaign, Rep. Katherine Harris went on national television invoking the memory of her late father and saying the money he left her will form the financial foundation of her challenge to Democratic Sen. Bill Nelson.

Now the Harris campaign says that's not the case.

Campaign spokeswoman Morgan Dobbs said Thursday that Harris will sell her existing assets rather than rely on money from her father, a bank executive who died in January.

The Republican from Longboat Key appeared on national television saying she would use the money left to her by her father to infuse her campaign with a badly needed shot of financing.

The announcement was the centerpiece of her appearance on Fox News, where Harris reaffirmed her commitment to the race.

"I'm going to take his legacy that he gave to me, everything I have, and I'm going to put it in this race," she told Sean Hannity. "I'm going to commit my legacy from my father -- $10 million."

A moment later, Hannity asked, "This is money from your father?"

"Yes," replied Harris.

Those comments are your own--or did you "borrow" them from another source? No need to avoid my question with your straw man reply.

I'll put it into simple terms for you: I know Katherine Harris, and you attend social functions with Bill Nelson.

Keep up the great Bill Nelson campaign, and tell us more about how impressed you are with his campaign prowess, Hebrew prayers, and his lovely wife while you simultaneously ridicule Harris.

Your comments reek of hypocrisy. You brag about your activities during the 2000 election fiasco, implying we should respect your behavior now...as though you have earned some badge of honor. Simultaneously, you dismiss Katherine Harris for doing her job and following the law during the 2000 election.

You are doing a lousy job of playing both sides of the fence. You are terribly transparent. We are not impressed.

>>KH; Dems have taken a blood oath to defeat her. For them it's 2000 vindicated. ... and she is helping them.

I worry that we will not win FL this year.

Got any suggestions?<<

Hey CHICKEN LITTLE, defeatists never win !

Nelson's wife is not in the Senate - so she is nice -
Laura Bush is nice too, but that does not help Dubya's low poll numbers one bit !

So Nelson speaks a little Hebrew, BIG DEAL .

I would say their vote is overrated anyways(~ Florida Jews voted for Buchanan in Nov. 2000, did he win ? NO ! )

With this attitude in Messychusetts, no wonder that state's GOP never wins there !

>>I wouldn't believe everything the media puts out on her. They have the full court press on KH right now and what surprises me is that FReepers are believing it. <<

Yes, this seems so true, especially with the first 13 postings on this thread !

As for that Sarasota article, I would not trust it until I got some verification !

I know KH too. Spent Inauguration Eve 2001 with her in DC. Were you invited?

Since you have neither the skill, information or courage to answer the questions posed in 59 or 60.... ZOT!

Sad to say but Kathleen Harris is prime kook material. A radio host down (Todd Schnitt) here (Florida) laid it all out and I know longer support her. He laid out how gawd awful she looks on TV and how flaky she is. It was cruel how he hard he lit into her but it rang true.

>>If she had been in some high position in Jeb Bush's administration other than Florida Attorney General, would the average voter even know her from your aunt's pet poodle?

No, they wouldn't.

Katherine Harris is famous simply because she happened to be the Florida Attorney General during the 2004 Presidential election and all she did was simply follow Florida law as was her sworn duty.

Any one of us would have done the same thing. You read what the law says. You follow the law. End of story.

Lionizing Katherine Harris as a Republican heroine as if she had done something spectacular simply plays into the Big Lie of the Democrats that claims that Katherine Harris stole the 2004 election for George W. Bush.
<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<

WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT ?

Master of typos here ? 2004 , 2004, it was the 2000 Presidential election .

And she was not Attorney General, she was the State's Secretary of State .

Harris put up with a lot of tarring and feathering in refusing to cave into DemonRat and GangsterCrat pressure, especially when their character assassins in the National Mass Media,(especially the New York Press- which has been the Liberal Propaganda machines for the past 70 yrs) went on the attack mode !
Especially with that Monkeyboy Begala - he should be lynched by us Real Americans, along with SerpentHead Carville !
------- St Petersburg Times is owned by the Nuke York Times !

Is this for real? I saw her on Hannity, and she made it very clear, in no uncertain terms, that her father's inheritance would be used in the campaign. Now, a few days later, she's retracting that?

She has been in Washington too long. You can never trust everything they say after a few years there.

You are amazing Three attempts, Three failures

Since you have been here about a month, please take note. BS doesn't work here.

Examples:

>Laura Bush is nice too, but that does not help Dubya's low poll numbers one bit !

DO YOU SERIOUSLY BELEIVE THAT?

>So Nelson speaks a little Hebrew. I would say their )TJE FLORIDA JEWISH )vote is overrated anyways.

REALITY 101 Check with Melvin Sembler, former RPOF and RNC Financial Chair. He's Jewish and from Treasure Island. Ask him about the importance of the Jewish vote.

>With this attitude in Massachusetts, no wonder that state's GOP never wins there !

Do the names Governor William Weld or Governor Mitt Romney of Massachusetts ring a bell. And their political parties are??????

Like I said, BS doesn't work here,

You are ZOTTED!

>>I'm agnostic on the question of whether Katherine Harris should be our candidate, though I lean against the idea.

However, I must say, there are times (as in 2000) when simply doing the right thing matters a great deal. Some "Republicans" probably would not have.

A good rule of thumb is: When the Rats hate you, you've done something right. Something important.<<

PRECISELY ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! !

The only word I can use to describe the Harris campaign begins with "clus," has a "terf" in the middle, and ends with "uck."

It WWII, the term was FUBAR.

>>It may have be unfair but, once Katherine Harris played such a crucial role in the 2004 Presidential election, she needed to put her political ambitions aside for the next four years and be, like Caesar's wife, totally above suspicion.
<<

2000 Presidential Election !

The DemonRats have proven over and over again that they will never forgive her !

She ran in 2002 for good reason, to keep up the momentum !
Did you expect her to just sit back and fade into obscurity ?

Since Jeb Bush and Tommy Franks are not interested in unseating Nelson, then it is for Katherine Harris to TRY !

There are no guarantees in life !

You are a ZOT - most Massachusetts GOP are so liberal !
Like Conneticut !

Laura Bush has higher approval ratings that her husband !
Does that mean, if an election were held today, he would be re-elected ?

You are a RINO !

You have no faith ! Don't BS us otherwise !

You avoid addressing the more serious issues in posts #58 and #61. I call you out on your post #43, you claim you are quoting someone else, yet you don't attribute the quote to anyone else. That puts you somewhere between plagiarism and a bald-faced lie.

You are obsessed with promoting your favorite U.S Senate candidate: Anyone But Harris, spamming the boards with your anti-Harris posts, and peppering Free Republic threads with pro-Nelson propaganda. Keep up the great anti-Harris campaign, and keep attending social functions with Bill Nelson. We'll continue to watch you, while we work to elect a conservative candidate.

p.s. Your vehemently anti-Harris behavior is similar to a boy who was turned down for a high school dance. Did Katherine turn you down for a dance at the inaugural ball?
