We are in Missouri -- Morgan County, just NW of the Gravois arm of Lake of the Ozarks. I don't understand why Bush didn't just veto this bill when he had the chance instead of leaving it up to the courts.

How cool, I grew up in Lakeland (North Shore of Lake of the Ozarks), and now live in SW St. Louis County. I totally agree that President Bush should have vetoed the bill. I can only guess that he was convinced that the court would overturn at least parts of it. That was quite a gamble, given the makeup of the USSC at that time. Hence, our current problem.
