Security through ignorance
Pittsburgh Tribune-Review ^ | 3/24/6 | Dimitri Vassilaros

George Foresman, undersecretary for preparedness in the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, was not prepared to call the invasion of illegal aliens into this country an invasion. Mr. Foresman's visit to the Trib last week went downhill from there for at least one columnist. And after being assured his office would provide answers by Monday to the immigration questions he was unable to address, the DHS follow-through was more foul-up than follow-up.

Foresman, a very likeable person with truly stellar credentials in security and preparedness, made it perfectly clear that he (and presumably DHS) did not consider the roughly 11 million illegals who entered America to be invaders. He also did not appear to be concerned about the more than 200 incursions into this republic since 1996 by people in Mexican military uniforms.

He did not know what percentage of illegals from Mexico are caught annually and claimed he had no idea about the effectiveness of the Minuteman Project in April when about 1,000 volunteers in Arizona kept their eyes and ears open for anyone trying to sneak into the United States. DHS supposedly did not analyze its pros and cons but news reports indicated it was stunningly successful in deterring alien trespassers. Foresman first said that about 1 percent of the illegals caught could be considered potential terrorists. Toward the end of the meeting, it was "less than 1 percent."

Yes, but isn't it worth it to have cheap lawn care and nannies?

Yea, after all, if homeland security was sooo good, the survivors of this directive of defense in wartime would be alive and available to complain about it's deficiencies.
