Well more then likely I am walking into a scream match here, but don't you think it is in poor taste to associate a man who fought communism and then tortured by them for years a communist?

I would vote for Hillary! before I vote for John McCain. I dislike Hillary! more than just about any other human being, but if it came down to her and McCain, I would volunteer for her campaign, drive Democrats to the polls, and stuff envelopes for the Donks form sun-up to sun-down

Be careful. I've said pretty close to the same thing in past and it's caused heart palpitations among some. ;-)

I certainly guarentee if enough foolishly selected him, that I'd spend every waking day and night talking to my friends/collegues who ARE either largely "Independent" or on the more conservative/moderate scale of the Democratic Party. You know, the people McCain thinks he can substitute in place of conservatives he lacks. I'll spend my time advocating against McCain to them, whereas last election I spent my time pulling FOR Bush.

McCain's going to have his own "AnyBody BUT" movement, only it's going to be a two pronged attack. From Democrats that support the Dem nominee, and from conservatives that have too much sense not to recognize the damage Mccain could do within the W.H. To this country AND the party/conservative movement.

John McCain? Didn't Laurence Harvey play him in the movie?

He's got about as much chance as Hillery!

the level of anger and hate that so many people here have for him doesn't make sense to me
That's because you don't care whether the goverment censors what you or I have to say. I don't mind if you don't care if the government censors you, that's your business. But I do mind if the government censors me - and if you had any patriotism you would mind that, too.

I won't argue than John McCain could get the Republican nomination for President in 2008.

What I will say that if the Republicans nominate him, he will cause the Democrat nominee to win the election, whether it be Hillary Clinton or someone else.

Two groups understand this, the main stream media including the television talking heads and the Democrat Party.

This is the reason for all the "polls" and is also the reason that McCain is the darling of the media at this point in time.

If he gets the Republican nomination, the main stream media and television talking heads will immediately turn on him. Hewill be viciously attacked each day by the print media and the television talking heads will attack him each morning, noon, and night.

Every skelton in his closet will be dreged up and trumpheted constantly along with the "enhancemets" to make them seem ten times worse than they actually were.

The past attacks on Candidate Bush and then President Bush will pale in comparsion to the attacks on Mc Cain.

I just flushed my support for McCain.

Republicans should throw him out of the party.

RINOs need to learn a lesson....

Problem is, the RINOs won't learn the lesson you want them to. I did the same thing in 1992 (well, I voted for Perot, and then Harry Browne in 1996), and the result was 8 years of Clinton. I was the one who learned the lesson.
