Oh, you've got to be kidding.

If she wants to give Neil's company money, she should do it as an investor and without taking the tax deduction.

A classless move from an otherwise very classy lady.

Barbara Bush is almost in the ranks of Mother Theresa and mother nature: You shouldn't mess with her.

You don't think you really know Barbara Bush do you? Her and her husband are great friends with Bill Clinton. Remember him? They guy that masturbated on an intern in the White House. Remember him? So you don't think you really know her do you?

The fact is that the whole Bush family have traded their political ties, fame and influence in to millions of dollars of income. It's a good deal if you can get it. Neil with Silverado Savings and all the stuff he has been involved in, including this deal. Jeb with all sorts of things in Florida, George W. with the stadium deal. All of them have had middle east connections like most of the family has since the early 1900's.

George HW and Barbara are very nice people. I saw them at a public function in Houston awhile back and they look fantastic for their age. She is just doing things the way they are used to. They are in an elite group and I suppose if any of us were members of that group maybe we would be doing the same kinds of things too.

The fact is that the entire Bush family have made a lot of money off of their family involvement in government. Some will say that's OK because we got a good deal in return. George HW Bush was almost killed fighting for his country and toiled as president. George W. Bush will never be able to walk done the street alone for the rest of his life without some kind of protection. The same goes for his wife. Maybe they are owed a bit of riches. Well, except Neil maybe:)

Sure, it's their money to give to charity, but gee folks, keep in mind how they made that money. It's the way it works and you can see the same things happen to people all over the political spectrum who have control of some part of the distribution of government funds. A lot of them end up very rich. That's just the way it is. Anyone who thinks otherwise hasn't been around politicians much.

Once little Neil gets his foot farther in he door with HISD getting it removed will be a chore. You see gang, my issue isn't with Barbara, she is at the point in her life she can tell us to go fly a kite (and likely will). My issue is that Neil Bush cost taxpayers a billion dollars in the savings and loan bidness and I'd prefer he keep away from the public trough.

She in effect, goes, buys software, and gives it to a school. How is that not classy? Oh, they would have preferred straight cash? Well that sure is looking a gift horse in the mouth.

"A classless move from an otherwise very classy lady."

Classless or smart? Given the corruption concerning Katrina, I'd much rather donate through a relative who would make sure it went where I wanted it to go. The main reason I haven't donated more than I have is because I can't be sure it's actually going to where it's needed.
