SEATTLE -- The parents of a 23-year-old who was killed trying to prevent the demolition of an occupied Palestinian home have appealed a judge's decision to dismiss their lawsuit against Caterpiller Inc., the company that made the bulldozer that ran over her.
"He applied the wrong legal standard and ignored the facts," said Maria LaHood, a lawyer with the New York-based Center for Constitutional Rights.
Rachel Corrie was killed three years ago by an Israeli soldier driving a bulldozer. She was trying to stop him from demolishing a Gaza Strip home while the family was inside; though witnesses said she was clearly visible, the army claimed he didn't see her.

The girl looks like a hateful idiot even in this photo.
I bet her parents are so proud.
Dumb morons raise an idiot that puts herself in front of a bulldozer and then they sue the bulldozer company for WORKING? Idiots
So that's what "NUMBNUTS" stands for.
Maybe this will provide the first documented Miracle from St. Rachel The Flattened...
Even sadder is the fact that the apple did not fall too far from the tree.
Rachel Corrie was wrong to stand in front of a bulldozer - flat wrong!
ROTFLMAO.
Charter member of the Flat Earth Society.
Without diesel, the dozer wouldn't have run.
Sue the fuel supplier !
It's the parents' fault! Most folks teach their children not to play in traffic, let alone lay down in front of it.
They're suing the wrong people!!
I suggest they sue whatever backwater "college" she supposedly attended for not teaching her to get the heck out of the way of heavy equipment coming in her direction. Of course, the college could just say they help ignorance, not innate stupidity.
Or - and this just might work - they could sue themselves for negligent parenting and hope to settle with their homeowners' policy.
If they lose, will they be "flat" broke?
"When bulldozers are outlawed, only outlaws will... ah... never mind..."
Whatever it was that her parents smoked in college back in '68, it must have been mighty potent to still have effects on their brains 30-plus years later! Probably have their Volvo covered with "Ban bulldozers" and "Bulldozers kill people" bumper stickers.
Actually, she got run over sitting in the middle of nowhere while a contractor drove a bulldozer trying to dig up underground tunnels, while the israeli army people who would have been able to see her and stop the bulldozer were pinned down in their tanks by Palistinian sniper fire which oddly didn't try to shoot her.
The house they supposedly were "knocking down" was still standing a year later.
God I love the Rachel Corrie threads! Lets never miss the opportunity to mock the nitwit that thought she could take on a bulldozer. Lets continue to disparage the memory of the terrorist loving moron from Evergreen that hated America and Israel and gave aid and comfort to the enemies of both. Hope she's rotting in hell!
"He applied the wrong legal standard and ignored the facts."
In other words, he was FLAT-OUT wrong! LOL!
Maybe her parents should have taught her some common sense and logic starting with never throw yourself in front of a moving vehicle or piece of equipment.
Cat needs to counter sue for defamation.
