"included a voluntary student health survey that violated privacy laws. "
That's an odd complaint from the more complete sex education side.

The book described men as "strong" and "courageous" while women were called "caring."
Clearly, there is a shortage of real men there.

The book described men as "strong" and "courageous" while women were called "caring." Well that should set the metrosexuals on end.

You could spend the whole damn social security trust fund on abstinence education and it wouldnt make a difference, aside for making some well connected a profit. I hate hearing how my tax money gets wasted on these preachy feel good social engineering projects.
To: Crackingham
Liberals are opposed to 19th Century sexual mores? gasp!> Women are gonna be back in corsets and be banned from holding jobs! Stop those fascist abstinence programs NOW! ;-)

"The curriculum had these incredible sexist viewpoints about men and women and boys and girls that seemed to come out of the nineteenth century," said Steven Brown, executive director of the state's ACLU. Yes. Nowadays, everyone knows that girls should dress and act like sluts and boys should act like dogs. What's wrong with these prudes?

Liberals adore girly men. See, its sexist for a man to be described as "strong and courageous." To liberals, a man should hold no opinion and stick his finger in the wind and then decide what view to hold. That's the mark of a wimp. Real men LEAD and others follow. But I forgot - that's too 19th Century and men are supposed to be good looking, sexually promiscuous, sensitive and caring. Just like the women.

Amen. If a woman hasn't made a porno video like Paris Hilton did by the time she's 20 - she's no lady and ditto if she doesn't dress down like a streetwalker. We can't have women live by 19th Century mores. Its too sexually repressive.

"because we thought the concerns of the ACLU were valid"
Saw this and figured these people don't have a clue or are from some other planet or reality. Either way, not much credibility here.

Sure. If the ACLU insisted RI institute a course in child porn, I'm sure the officials there would say its a perfectly valid concern. sarcasm off>

Call me a traitor to my sex, but I'll ONLY marry a guy who is "strong" and "courageous"--and I'd hope he'd marry me because (among other reasons, obviously) he'd see me as "caring." (Mutters rude and unprintable comments about ACLU idiots under her breath)
