Senior Muslim clerics demanded Thursday that an Afghan man on trial for converting from Islam to Christianity be executed, warning that if the government caves in to Western pressure and frees him, they will incite people to "pull him into pieces."
"Rejecting Islam is insulting God. We will not allow God to be humiliated. This man must die," said cleric Abdul Raoulf, who is considered a moderate and was jailed three times for opposing the Taliban before the hard-line regime was ousted in 2001.

Uhh.....I'm speechless.
Sure there are moderate Muslims................. They just want to kill you. The radicals want to behead you.
Ahhh..., now if only people over here in the United States could "read the tea leaves" about Islam...
When the Muslims are in a position and location of "power" -- they no longer have to hide and pretend to be what they are not (like they do over here in the United States). And these Muslim clerics prove it by their statements, and also by the confidence that they have that the people will follow what they are saying [they are corrrect in that assessment].
Over here, Muslims will practice Takeyya and also the Doctrine of Abrogation -- in order to lie to your face and make you think they are truly a "religion of peace."
Later, when they take over -- here in the U.S. -- they will act in the same way you are seeing them act, where they are in a position of power.

"Religion of Peace, right Mr. President?"
----Bush needs to make a quick phone call to Hamid right now and end this. That is if he wants his party to win the 2006 elections. This is ridiculous.
You said -- "There is NO moderate Islam. There is Islam and there are those that hide in the shadows of Islam until they are called."
This is correct. How long will it take for Americans to realize that?

Sorry Bastards! Does anyone notice that Muslims never asked to be understood or sympathized with.
It is not just a problem in Afghanistan. It is a problem everywhere that muslims rule. Probably without the threat of death, many muslims would leave the religion. They need to tear down their wall of terror.
Saudi Arabia - Conversion by a Muslim to another religion is punishable by death. Bibles are illegal. Churches are illegal.
Yemen - Bans proselytizing by non-Muslims and forbids conversions. The Government does not allow the building of new non-Muslim places of worship.
Kuwait - Registration and licensing of religious groups. Members of religions not sanctioned in the Koran may not build places of worship. Prohibits organized religious education for religions other than Islam.
Egypt - Islam is the official state religion and primary source of legislation. Accordingly, religious practices that conflict with Islamic law are prohibited. Muslims may face legal problems if they convert to another faith. Requires non-Muslims to obtain what is now a presidential decree to build a place of worship.
Algeria - The law prohibits public assembly for purposes of practicing a faith other than Islam. Non-Islamic proselytizing is illegal, and the Government restricts the importation of non-Islamic literature for distribution.
Jordan - Has the death penalty for any Muslim selling land to a Jew.
Sudan - Conversion by a Muslim to another religion is punishable by death.
Pakistan - Conversion by a Muslim to another religion is punishable by death. Bans proselytizing by non-Muslims. Christians regularly put in prison for charges of blasphemy.
Malaysia - Every baby born is automatically Muslim and it is illegal to ever change religion.
The world needs to pull this deathcult to pieces. It's time for Allah to die.
You said -- "Islam is a religion of peace and tolerance."
Did you forget your "sarcasm tag"?

T. E. Lawrence wrote of the Arabs:
"This people was black and white, not only in vision, but by inmost furnishing: black and white not merely in clarity, but in apposition. Their thoughts were at ease only in extremes. They inhabited superlatives by choice. Sometimes inconsistents seemed to possess them at once in joint sway; but they never compromised: they pursued the logic of several incompatible opinions to absurd ends, without perceiving the incongruity. With cool head and tranquil judgement, imperturbably unconscious of the flight, they oscillated from asymptote to asymptote." Although not Arabs Afgans are also people of the desert, and have taken to the same harsh dispostion of heart and mind.
The Afghans are not Arabs.
Let's quit with the pretending, Mr. President. We are in the next Crusade & no tolerance to these non-tolerants.
Afghanistan has never left the 7th century, and their clerics like it that way.
Islam in such places is, from a "how religion is practiced" perspective, like the western Christian empire in the dark ages, before the Reformation; when Popes "annointed" secular rulers, and could make or break them, and religious apostasy was a capital offense.
Martin Luther began to part ways only at the most "spiritual" transgression of that religious-based rule, with bishops handing out forgiveness of sins for a "donation"; as if that "forgiveness" could even come from them in the first place; like the Afghan clerics demand that it can only be dispensed by them.
They, and their religious attitude is what most offends God.
It's looking more like that every day.........
the resulting shangri-la would be bliss......
The only good thing the middle east produces is oil......
In every other regard it detracts from the peace of the planet!!
YOu don't need one with that statement. It is now the universal term for sarcasm. :)
what a great idea. then we can be just like them.
what do you think separates Christianity from Islam, einstein?
Flame away.
Condi Rice on Fox now, talking about this case.
