Yes, you went that far, then went off topic.
A hot meal and a place to sleep "for the night." Sounds good to me. THAT meets their physical needs for about 18 hours. So, how many nights/days do we meet only their physical needs before we realize we are not helping them, really? With a sincere commitment to God through Grace, and obedience to His commands, 'they' MUST realize they MUST become LEGAL. THAT is biblical.
Again, show me in scripture where it is the duty of the Church to protect sinners and shield them from secular or spiritual judgment from sin or wrong-doing?

Sorry - I'm the only one defending Hillary Clinton right now (who would have thunk I would have to type those words here at FR ; )
I don't know yet how long is "too long" - that's why I'm looking into Church santuary, etc. I'll try to get back to you soon.
