"All 2200 of these people should plead "not guilty" and demand a jury trial."

I agree 100% which is exactly what I would do. But most people just don't have the time since they remain busy trying to make a livin. And we know that most of these folks had money or they would'nt have been in a bar...they would have been on a park bench somewhere reaking of urine...but those people who actually are a threat to themselves and others can't come up with the money the TABC is looking for to fill their budget (coffers.)So they hit the bars where there's lots of money to be found.

I'm still hoping for a class action as another poster suggested. And I would like to know now how many actually did or will plead not guilty and request a trial by jury.

Does it say how many were actually from Texas?

For them being in hotels alot of them might have gone back to their own state and don't wan't to go back to fight it.

Don't know about Texas, but in PA you don't get a jury trial for minor offenses like this, you don't even get to argue your case before a judge, just a magistrate who is usually the retired Chief of Police... what do we do when the States become the tyranny?
