Today's report reflects the closing of contracts signed in January, when record-warm temperatures and lower mortgage rates brought more people into the market than is typical for that month, economists said.
Inventory also rose 5.2%.
I find it hilarious when FReepers accuse the MSM of fabricating misleading headlines, yet FReepers always tent to jump on those headlines when it serves their purpose.

Do you think this good news will get "headline" treatment anywhere? Just because there is a report in the MSM doesn't mean it is a "headline" in the MSM. These kind of "alert" reports are part of the regular business in news reporting. Notice the "bad news caveat" the reporter put in the piece?
FReepers are dead on accurate when it comes to assessing the MSM as liberal to the core.

Sales are flat over a year ago when there was no warm january weather. Also inventory is up 30% over a year ago (
Data).
Here in northern VA, inventory is up 400% since march 05 (Data). How about the headlineL: "Sales Flat, Inventory Skyrockets"?

Do you really have as much contempt for all of us uneducated, misinformed or politically correct inconsiderate FReepers as your condescending comment would suggest?

Because there is a different because misleading and factual which you just seemed to not get in your statement.
The fact is more homes than were expected did sell. What is serving anyone's purpose by this?
