We seem to be against the grain here but those are my thoughts too. I won't vote for the dem or third party candidate.
I will if it's mccain or hillary.
You two are not alone; I'll be damned if I'll EVER pull the lever to give the Democratic Party back what they want -- power.
I've seen what they are capable of when they are OUT of power -- and there is nothing anybody can say that will convince me that if they get it back, they'll ever turn it loose.
NO THANKS.
I say no more Perot-induced "defeats." Look at the 8 years it got us when some "conservatives" and Perot-wooers played payback at George Bush during one night in November. So he wasn't the most conservative President in GOP history. So what? (I wonder by the way how much more conservative he must've looked after Clinton stepped into the W.H.!) At least we'd have had a decent, honorable, and pragmatic man in until 1997 and die-hard conservative Dan Quayle as President in 1997.
And so the point of the primaries is trial by fire - often the best candidate emerges; sometimes he doesn't - and by all means defeat McCain there where we ought to. But come election day, barring something unforeseen, I am going to get in line and vote for the best candidate on the ballot, which in my philosophy will almost certainly be the GOP, and certainly McCain over Hillary.
