Was Chucky Schumer in the area at the time of the uprising ? We might never know because he probably accidentally knocked the camera man out as he rushed the camera .

The trouble broke out on Tuesday night when buses due to take labourers to a residential camp at the end of their shift were delayed, witnesses said.
I remember when we had those in California for migrant workers, only we called them what they were..."labor camps" or "farm labor camps". Those that weren't citizens were legal "guest workers" in the true sense of the word and everybody appreciated them (yes, some migrant workers were not only citizens but some were even white).

Isn't Dubai rather prone to earthquakes? Doesn't seem like the place where I'd want to build the world's tallest buildings and underwater hotels, but hey, I don't have that kind of dough, so I'll shut my yack.

Gee, I hope that isn't close to the airport....

That's a beauty. Too bad they're not building something similar to it in NYC instead of the "Freedom" Tower.

Impressive, I wonder how long the soon to be world record of tallest skyscraper in the world would last. By the way, does anyone have a construction photo of this building?

I wonder how long the soon to be world record of tallest skyscraper in the world would last. For quite some time I imagine. The Burj Dubai will be about 2250 ft. tall when completed. That is about 725 ft. taller than the current tallest building the Taipei 101.
The Burj Dubai is designed where it can be built even higher. The max height is about 2850 ft. and with the antenna this building could become up to 3300 ft. or twice as tall as Freedom Tower in New York. Should anyone announce a taller building before the completion date of early 2009, they can simply add more floors. They can even add floors after it is completed, but it is doubtful that once tenants move in that this would be possible.

"Watched a show on islands that they had built." Yup. I saw that too. I don't know if I'd want to own anything on that island sand.
