What we are talking about here is Hispanic Vote 2008.

We are also talking about a huge block of the DNC base, and the exploitive economy of the City of New York (and Philly, and Chicago, and others.)

As an OTR (all states) Truck driver I have seen it all. Brick buildings meant to be office building in NYC gutted out to make a 'factory.' You can hardly get an 18-wheeler in the parking lot, because it was built years ago as.... a parking lot (for cars.) Yet they have installed a 'dock' and when you go inside the place is crawling with Hispanics. And let me just tell you, I like these people and as a Christian I see them as souls to be saved, but the way they are being exploited in this country is a shame. They are vastly underpaid and they will never complain because they can't speak good English, they are here illegally and don't want to be caught, and they are just glad to have some kind of job.

So, I try to think of the compassion of Christ, but is it compassionate to make people work in this country for less than minimum wage?

Example... the company above, was in the Bronx. They import plastic housings and motors for fans from China. They arrive in Philly and are shipped up there. They are assembled by Hispanics making next to nothing, and the assembled products are sent to Family Dollar, or Dollar General.

Another example: Bose Radios. Those 'outstanding sound' radios are assembled, among other places, in Yuma, Arizona. Why Yuma, where it is over 100 degrees in the shade? A steady workforce of illegals.

Newspaper in South Carolina claimed a week ago that there are 55,000 illegals in that state, alone, and that it is a premier target for Hispanics because local factories are well known for not checking nationality of potential employees.

Go to your local bus station, at any time of day, and you will see them. Small groups of Hispanic men. They wear sport caps (all different NFL teams.... for some reason it seems funny... how can they all support a different team? But they aren't supporters and they don't speak much if any English. Try asking one of them, even in Spanish, about the "Miami Dolphins" like who is the Quarterback this year? They can't tell you. They think the caps will make them look more like nationals.) You will see alot of these groups. As a truck driver I have to take a bus occasionally for various reasons. Everytime, the bus is 90% full of Hispanics. Thats how many of them are moving throughout the country 24 hours a day.

We need to help these people in Mexico so they can get productive jobs. A recent article I read said Mexicans work for around $1.00 per hour. They naturally want to come here where they can make much more.

Bottom line... if you sent these people home and built the wall on the southern border, NYC would suffer greatly. True, there are still alot of Puerto Ricans and Dominican Republic peoples arriving by thousands to be exploited by NYC, but still, the Mexicans are the largest part of those factory workers IMHO.

Bottom line...if we don't send these people home and build a wall on the southern border, America will suffer greatly

"We need to help these people in Mexico so they can get productive jobs."

Why do "we" need to help them? They have a president, and a country. Why is it always up to the good ol USA to help the world. What about the Latin countries, why do they get a pass? Why don't they help. Why don't we just cut our the middle man (Vicente), and just annex the damn country? What we need to do is make able-bodied Americans get off the dole and earn their keep. We have our own problems, we can't solve Vicente's problems too.
