Am I wrong? Bush had nothing to do with this? These cuts are being proposed by Congress? Bush isn't a King who rules everything.
To: WayneLusvardi
Are they even cuts, or just reductions in the rate of increase? If the latter, that's NOT a cut.

Bush isn't a King who rules everything. Yes, well, apparently that's his fault, too.

How bout we make disease research proportional to the number killed by a given disease. The screaming aids activists wouldn't be too happy to see their funding cut to a fraction of what it gets now.

Just one of many reasons why the World Health Organization rated Medical Care in the US 34th of 190 member nations.

Bush Causes Cancer!!!!!
Well, at least now we know some of what Karl Rove does when it's not hurricane season.

I wish this were true. Government destroys medicine.
To: WayneLusvardi
He proposed a cut in the program of $1.4 million Real cut or a slight trim off a $100 million planned increase.

Last night we had rain showers. The wind blew my neighbor's empty trash can across my yard and it knocked over a small birdbath I had placed out there.
I have yet to get a response from George W. I understand he was jogging this morning while I frantically roamed my yard in dismay at the devastation. He didn't care. My life is in shambles and he doesn't care.
My neighbor had to come out of his house, walk all the way over to my yard (nearly 75 feet) and lug his empty plastic trashcan back to his yard. He got no help from the Federal Gubmit.
Where is FEMA?

The fundamental premise of this article is entirely wrong. If the Founding Fathers saw the detail to which government intrusion has descended, they would be utterly horrified - Jefferson argued that the Federal Government should not fund internal improvements, i.e., roads. He would say that liberty was more important than catering to every little need that one can think of. People have a responsibility to monitor and take care of their own health, it is not the job of the government to do so.
So, as a Freeper, my reaction is this - the author of the article doesn't understand the fundamental premise upon which the government is supposed to be based. But then again, neither do many Republicans.
Regards, Ivan

The federal government has a national breast and cervical cancer early detection program,.... I will have to admit this is one area where Slick Willie was much more personally involved than Bush. Slick and his Willie did much personal research in the area of breasts and cervix early detection.

No taxpayer money should go to cancer research until and unless that money stops being used for pacs and publicity. Taxpayer funds should be spent on real science, not propaganda.
