I hate the RATs as much as you do, but we can't blame them for writing his speeches, now can we.

Say what you want about his speeches, you're wrong. It's the left that has been trying to combat AIDS by starting the War On AIDS, and they've failed. If Bush fails, blame the Democrats, because they took us to war over AIDS.

I'm a minority, so don't accuse me of any racist opinion

That, sir, is a racist statement in and of itself. ANYONE can be racist, period. I find it odd that you play the race card in an ugly, sloppy attempt to avoid being called racist when your two biggest hang ups on this thread are that we are giving money to Africa and that NOLA appeared to be a "black problem."

People better than I have been patiently flooding you with facts which you continue to ignore. At this point, you have lost any fleeting credibility you may have had on this issue. Minority or just having "slept at a Holiday Inn Express last night."

OH THANK you. I appreciate the information, mariabush!
Right now I have control of the remote and I can schedule TIVO to record it, in case I lose control of the TV when it airs.

Looking at their schedule at their website, it looks like it's somewhere between 3:30 and 8:00 ET.

Actually I meant 5:30 and 8:00pm ET, because of that 2 hour taped event at 3:30.

I am so tired of the Bush bashing!!!

I bash RATs. With Bush and the GOP, I critique in hopes of helping them move to the right from their atrocious leftist (fiscally leftist) agenda.

For your information Congress is responsible for spending.

For your information, Bush submits the budget, and all of the budgts submitted by Bush have had some of the largest spending request increases for nondefense spending in history. Also, for your information, Bush can veto spending requests by Congress.

Bottom line, all spending makes the economy grow even faster.

Spending increases set the baseline for the next year's budget. Even if we have a recession, spending stays at least equal but normally rises (in the case of Bush budgets, have risen to huge increases, even during recession, e.g., 2003 FY budget).

Give Bush the line item veto and he will reduce government spending in due time.

Only an excuse. A budget could be submitted by Bush that is a conservative budget, and he can veto appropriations. He does not need a line item veto to do that.

Don't mistake "bashing" for critique. Conservative George Will does not "bash" President Bush but believes some of his moves are not conservative. Conservative Peggy Noonan does not "bash" President Bush but believes some of his moves are not conservative. I do not "bash" President Bush, but I believe along the lines of George Will and Peggy Noonan, that some of Bush's policies are not conservative--facts from the OMB bear that out. For the record, I "bash" RATs.

Don't let our common hatred of the RATs cloud good conservative thinking. The RATs have shown themselves to be anti-American, and only interested in regaining power, not working for the good of the nation. They are at war with Bush, the GOP and core Amercan traditional values.

Good conservatives should not sit by and give a wink and nod to nonconservative agendas. Free Republic is a conservative forum, not a RNC rally hall. We should be here to fight for the conservative cause. I know I am.

LOL -- I'll try, but he hates democrats and journalists... this will be a tough one for me to watch while he's in the same room. I'll set TIVO for 3 hours and see what happens.

Point me to a post of yours in which you praised the President for something he did. Just one is all I ask to see.

He not only slapped Helen around, he put Nora O'D on MSNBC in a full out snit! How dare the President diss Helen the Hag who was the 1st female journalist-hag ever admitted to the WH press corps & Nora surmised he was attacking the press to shore up his conservative base.

Someone best tell her she'll turn into Helen the Hag if she continues being so bitter.

hey.

I had this sent to me in FR mail as this person and I discussed the Bush trashing on here:

"I've looked at the history of a few posters and found them to be Pat Buchanan supporters, Reagan only, or staunch libertarians. That explains quite a bit"

This was my reply:

Funny, I think youre right. And libertarians and Reaganites in agreement says much for their accuracy in degrading Bush.

A few things about reagan (and I do appreciate his service as Pres):

1. He was an actor and at home with talking in fornt of a camera and acting. Not that he lied; but he knew how to sell himself to the public, and that is NOT a plus IMO. It means Clinton took notes.

2. People who say "Bush is no Reagan": well DUH. And there could be many who would say "Reagan was no Lincoln" or "reagan was no washington", but Lincoln and Washington did not live in the same generation as Reagan. It does not mean that Regan=good/Bush=bad (or "not as good as Reagan" or "Bush needs to be Reagan". Thats just stupid talk).

3. Reagan did NOT have any of the societal, economic or world problems during Office that Bush has. To assume Bush should handle it like Reagan would have is assinine; no one could say how Reagan would react to 9-11, Katrina, WoT, a depression, anarchists marching regularaly in our streets...

To compare Reagan and Bush in any way is idiotic. IMO. I may not agree with Bush at every turn, I do trust him, more than I trust my opinion of him.

But I did send a second one to correct an error;

i take some of that back; i forgot reagan inherited a 10% unemployment from carter. but the economy is better now than it ever was under reagan

Speaking of Norah O'Donnell, here's a classic screen capture from MSNBC, displaying the actual gaffe in their on screen graphic. This occured a couple years ago or so.

LOL! Perhaps Chris Matthews was at the controls? It is positively creepy the way Matthews looks at and talks to her.

The President sounded very defensive and shallow, I hate to say.

he did not sound like he was very much in charge. he has lost his confidence.

I liked him much better right after 9/11. he was then very much the leader we need now.
