Chef's Quitting Controversy

Isaac Hayes did not quit "South Park." My sources say that someone quit it for him.
I can tell you that Hayes is in no position to have quit anything. Contrary to news reports, the great writer, singer and musician suffered a stroke on Jan. 17. At the time it was said that he was hospitalized and suffering from exhaustion.
It’s also absolutely ridiculous to think that Hayes, who loved playing Chef on "South Park," would suddenly turn against the show because they were poking fun at Scientology.
Last November, when the “Trapped in a Closet” episode of the comedy aired, I saw Hayes and spent time with him in Memphis for the annual Blues Ball.
If he hated the show so much, I doubt he would have performed his trademark hit song from the show, “Chocolate Salty Balls.” He tossed the song into the middle of one of his less salacious hits and got the whole audience in the Memphis Pyramid to sing along.

There have been a few others on this subject that were pulled today on FR and I'm curious as to the reason why they got yanked.

Matt Stone and Trey Parker dump on just about everyone. Scientologists ought to be happy that their religion is significant and well known enough to actually make it on South Park.
I remember Stephen Bruton. He was great. I think he also played a banjo very well. He and the groups he played with were fantastic. And he is right, Fort Worth rocked with both black and white players playing together.
Perhaps it's the chilling effect of potential litigation?
I doubt this is the hill Free Republic wants to die on.

Just read that a new episode of SPark is called "Return of Chef". Could this be Chef with a higher voice, the product of having been emasculated?
I think this is less about Stone and Parker being equal opportunity offenders and more about what Viacom did and why.
Chocolate salty balls? I think that's inappropriate to be on television. No wonder Hayes (or a representative of Scientology speaking on a sick man's behalf) quit the show ... it's very vulgar.
Chocolate salty balls are a delicacy! People from all over enjoy putting them in their mouths and sucking them on the show. They're an edible treat that Chef makes...and they're so popular he even sings a song about them. Why is that vulgar?
