The ceremony was attended by Ricardo Cabrisas, government minister, and Major of the Revolution Ramiro Valdés Menéndez, president of the Cuba Electronics Group.

Also present were Alberto Rodríguez Arufe, Cuban ambassador to China, businesspeople and officials from the Cuban embassy in Beijing.

Haier was represented by Zhou Yun Jie, vice president of that corporation, the largest manufacturer of Chinese electro-domestic items and one of the most important enterprises in the world in the sector; other senior executives; officials and workers.

After the handover the refrigerators in this initial consignment were transported in trucks to the port to be shipped to Cuba.

Remember the pressure-cookers every Cuban household was supposed to get a few months back? Then a hurricane came along and destroyed what little electric power they had. It's sad to see people oppressed by that idiot.

I find it hard to feel any sympathy for the majority of the Cuban people. 56 years of living in crap and not a single "uprising". Sorry, you make your bed....

Same goes for the North Koreans and Eastern Europeans. No guts.

what kind of plug will the chinese put on them? Does cuba have a standard?
Not only that, if they all plug in these refrigerators at once, won't it cause a brown out?

Fido won't be able to brag about his countries "Energy conservation" anymore either.

Most of them will probably end up being used as sheet metal patches for those old 1958 chevy's they still drive in Cuba. They haven't had a new car there in 46 years.
