She would be great, and I can tell you that she was completely gracious to a stranger she squeezed next to at what was really a very extraordinary time in the nation's history.

At the time, she was widely considered to be the top choice for Bush's National Security Adviser. She clearly was interested in the outcome of the election. We talked some politics, some weather (it was kind of a nasty drizzle that night), and we did a lot of speculating about what was happening in Florida that caused Gore to "un-concede".

I now regret we didn't talk any football.
