Gee, somehow and for some reason the newspaper stories this morning didn't focus on the collapse of the anti-war movement as noted by the small, small gatherings, here and there, in a few places.

Boy, that's some protest, about the same as the one pictured in the Bellingham Herald, in WA State.

“Embarrassed that we torture people. Embarrassed that we detain people without due process,” said Mr. Hawkins, an information technology consultant who lives in Fitchburg.

Later, he added “ashamed” to the list.

And I'm "embarrassed" and "ashamed" to share a nationality with a treasonous, ignorant twit like you who believes the b.s. fed to you by leftist liars in the media and who helps embolden Al Qaeda through your efforts to divide the nation on the war. People like you have prolonged this war and made it more difficult for our service men and women serving in Iraq when Al Qaeda would have given up there long ago had they seen a united front of determination on the US domestic front willing to bear any burden and make any sacrifice to see this effort through to the end. Instead, we got a bunch of lazy, simple-minded media dupes like you who never bothered to look deeper into the situation in Iraq or into the anti-American proganda of the media that tells you we torture prisoners when in fact they live better in captivity than they ever did when they were roaming free planning to wreack havoc on our country. I am ashamed of people like you, and embarrassed for your abject stupidity because you're too deceived and too dimwitted to be embarrassed for yourself. And let me add, you make me ill.

If only FDR took that approach, huh, DUmmie?

How does one ask one's child to treat this teacher with respect?

“That’s how we spread freedom and democracy, by being a model country,” Mr. Hawkins said.

Even when they mean well, which they often don't, liberals are appallingly naive. Just how impressed does he feel Saddam Hussein was by our democracy? I think what impressed Saddam was having 150,000 soldiers and marines land on his fanny with big, heavy combat boots.

“That’s how we spread freedom and democracy, by being a model country,” Mr. Hawkins said.

Why didn't we try that with the Nazis? We could have just been a "model country" and Hitler would have seen the error of his ways! What were Roosevelt & Churchill thinking?
