SAN FRANCISCO (MarketWatch) -- Verizon Communications (VZ) and CBS Corp. (CBS) on Monday said they have reached a retransmission consent and video-on-demand agreement for CBS shows. Financial terms were not disclosed. The deal includes analog, digital, multicast and high-definition rights to programming on CBS owned-and-operated television stations; local video-on-demand content from those stations; and CBS Television Network video-on-demand content, including series such as "CSI," "NCIS" and "Survivor." Verizon said it will offer the programming on Verizon FiOS TV, its new fiber-optic TV service, which is now available in parts of seven states

I think the ol' Dead Kennedys mantra "MTV Get Off The Air" should be updated to reflect the parent corp. "Viacommie Get Off The Air".

This is a war between the New Media and the Old. And the New will eventually win it. Why? Sun Tzu was correct when he stated that victorious warriors win first and then go to war, while defeated warriors go to war and then seek to win.

In the minds of the New Media, they've already won. It's just a matter of time. Another interesting point: in the world of internet communications when everything is now now now, you find an interesting trait in the minds of much of the New Media types: patience. We are willing to wait it out 20 years, if that's what it takes, to bury ABCNNBCBS.

The LSM is doomed. They just haven't figured it out yet.

You have this one completely wrong.

I mean VERY wrong.

FIOS is a delivery system like cable or satellite.

They are paying CBS for this programming just like DirecTV, Dish, Comcast or Time Warner pay for this programming.

Sorry to burst your bubble on this one.
