And some of those that praised Gibson's epic "The Passion of the Christ" may take pause in how he describes this film by slamming the president.

And some of us are able to separate entertainment from politics. I go to the cinema to be entertained, not to form public policy.

We need to realize that there's a difference in an artist like Mel stating his opinion and the agenda pushing done by those who promoted this year's Oscar nominees.

If a movie is worth seeing, it's worth seeing. It's just that simple.

"And some of us are able to separate entertainment from politics. "

And some of us are even able to separate religion from politics. Why do some people think that being Christian must equal being a Bush supporter? (Though personally I am both).

Bingo. I don't care if the stars in the film are liberal or conservative - they're entitled to their opinion. I care if the story is interesting. Then I'll go. For instance: Sir Ian McKellan is homosexual - but that wasn't going to stop me from enjoying The Lord of the Rings.

Now, some movie stars annoy me. Tom Cruise is exhibit A for that. I refuse to see anything with him in it.
