LOL. I can't believe Allawi said it was a civil war today. Of course, he said this from the U.K. It is a long overdue social readjustment. Saddam had kept the screws down tight on a lot of conflicts in Iraq, and now that the people are free they're doing what they've wanted to do for some time - protect their local interests. Calling it a 'civil war' is not reasonable, calling it 'ethnic or religious tensions' is.

Be better off calling it Gang Warfare. The Terrorists cannot even advance off stage one of guerrilla war. They can kill and destroy, they cannot create. They have been unable to establish an alternative shadow Govt., no go areas or any political organization. They are busy doing everything they can to destroy their standing with the Iraqi citizenry. As Mao said, Guerrillas are fish that swim in a peasant sea. Well the terrorists are busy draining the sea.
