This is a sarcasm tag: (s)(/s). We use this on FR when we make statements that suggest 10- and 11-year-olds need to know about STD's. Otherwise, people might think we're interested in having sex with children that age, and that would be disgusting.
Well, as far as I know, quite a few 11 and 12 year olds are sexually active. Stop by a local movie theater if you need "proof." To say that children don't need education on the realities of STD's, contraception, etc, BEFORE they start having sex is asking for trouble.
You disagree that 5th and 6th graders need sex education???
Geez, I got sex-ed class in 5th grade, and that was 25 years ago... in the conservative south!
My wife has delivered babies to 12 year olds who were impregnated when they were 11, so perhaps it's time to rethink your time table.
