Yeah... those 'colds' are the kind that get me up @ 5:00AM... and make me tie the canoe on the pick-up.

Just got my Bass Pro Shops order out yesterday... mostly jigheads and some fresh, 6lb. test. I've got more different styles/color/sizes of plastic baits than you can shake a rod at.

This lake I fish has begun to show some healthy-sized crappies in it... nice ones! Ice should be out by the 1st... 2nd week of April... all I need now is my license.

have you heard what Bass Pro is doing with the Pyramid Arena here in Memphis?

Pyramid Arena
Pyramid Arena
Bass Replacing Grizzlies at $100M Pyramid

Last updated: February 27, 2006  08:06am MEMPHIS-Bass Pro Shops plans to transform the massive Pyramid Arena here into a retail and entertainment destination. The estimated $100-million endeavor would utilize federal tax credits and include a restaurant, aquarium, hotel, marina and museum.

It would become an anchor store for them, possibly their largest anywhere and include lots of unique features.  Their press release is here.

The Pyramid is right on the Mississippi river in downtown.  It was made obsolete by the new (really nice) FedEx forum built for the NBA Grizzlies after they moved here.  There's a really nice trolley system within walking distance that can take people between the Pyramid and the downtown shopping and Beale Street entertainment, which are both really taking off after many years of decline.  This could be really nice.

What I'd like to see is a light rail line or even a monorail system, with this downtown area at one end and the Tunica casinos at the other.  It would be great for both.

Memphis used to be THE shopping destination for hundreds of miles around.  In the age of Walmart that's mostly stopped (it really stopped well before that).  This could actually bring that back.
