WHY DO IT AT ALL - Climbing Mount Everest does not cost billions of dollars or years of planning !
Send in them 'robots' to 'bring back rock samples', like the Soviets did in the 1970's, in lieu of sending a mannned mission which they could not afford (actually, the Soviet Planners did not want to afford such an undertaking)!
