I don't mind spending the money on the fight, but I'd like some cheap gas. Paying to rebuild Iraq while I'm also paying $2.55/gallon at the pump just doesn't seem fair.
Well I wish the best for your daughter, and sorry to hear about your Holiday Inn Express stay. (Just kidding back...)
I love that line in the commercials.
Ammunition is expended in training and needs replaced just the same as the twenty thousand air dropped munitions used during 'shock and awe'. I suppose some of the additional cost is there. Replacing things that take damage is another area of additional cost.
I would offer that the two most costly areas are shipping and (re)construction efforts. These costs are part of any business endeavor and as they apply to this venture, the returns far outweigh the costs.
IF someone wanted to be honest about the actual $$$$ cost of this war, they would break down what has actually been spent and where. We do not see that breakdown from either side. This leads me to believe that the actual cost isn't worth the time to decipher it. Besides, it is so much better for MSM fodder if that never happens.
bump!
Well said, but W did say 'a war on many fronts' though. ;)
Money that would have been much better spent on welfare, abortions and gay weddings.
I'm no Analyst, but it seems a year or two ago, the news was spewing something about us not spending enough in the war, and all of it's negative consequences. Now, too much has been spent, that seems the general message. I'm confused as to how much a war should cost, my opinion is, however much it takes to win but maybe that's just me.
Similar, not enough troops, now too many. Good grief, anything at all to trash the administration on any topic.
There are lies, damn lies and statistics. I would place the estimate as a statistic that is predicated upon governmental accounting practices. It is truly a waste to even post this drivel.
THis is a game the DBM plays: Take a viewpoint and bash the administration with it. THen, some time later, take a 180 degree opposed viewpoint, and do the SAME thing.

Cool! Thanks! (All my stuff is on my page)
I loved doing it.!
This article purports to be about a cost-benefit analysis of the Iraq engagement, but over three-quarters of it is about the costs, and very little about the (potential) benefits. The value of preventing the West from being overrun by a billion Muslims is huge, if incalculable. Unfortunately, this is only one of the first steps.
How much would it cost if Chitown got nuked or a city on the east coast or LA.
What did we lose on 911?
"Freedom ain't free"
Especially when Americans are always footing the bill. Just once I'd like to see us be given a discount. Or, maybe Jacque Frenchie say, "Hey, let me take care of that this time. It's my turn."
LOL.
Then again, we'll probably end up spending the trillion fighting the enviro groups fighting nuke plants in the courts.
/sorry, just couldn't resist ;-)
