Good point.

Not really. Your original point was well stated and very accurate. To argue with what you had written is just arguing semantics. I'm no Francophile but they without France's help, their wouldn't be a United States today. Of course we paid through the nose to get their help and they were largely motivated to help us only as a way to stick it to the British.
