If RudiG is thinking about running for Prez in 08, what makes him think conservatives will vote for him in the primaries. Rudi is a liberal. Rudi is pro-abortion, pro-gun-control, pro-enviro-wackoism, pro-illegal alien, pro-gay rights, pro-gay marriage and a big government Republican. Rudi is tough on crime. Okay. So are a lot of conservatives. The GOP can do better then supporting a liberal like RudiG.

You just don’t understand. For a very large number of Republicans character doesn’t matter any more than core conservative principles matter. All that matters to that group is someone be a Republican who they think can win.

As mayor of NYC Rudy had to have made some concessions in his philosophy in order to win. I'll believe if Rudy runs he'll move more to the right and say that abortion and gay rights are states' issues. He knows he cannot win without the conservative base. I'm not a huge fan of him but he's very good at articulating positions so succinctly that even die-hard libs will nod their heads vigorously. Voting for him over Hillary is a no-brainer.
