March 18, 2006 -- WASHINGTON - Rudy Giuliani will soon make a pilgrimage to the politically potent state of Iowa - the first stop in the presidential nominating process - fueling further speculation that he's eyeing a 2008 bid, The Post has learned.
The official reason for Giuliani's trip is to star at a May 1 "Get Motivated" leadership seminar that's already being advertised in The Des Moines Register.
But the trip to Iowa, site of the first presidential nominating caucus, has much bigger symbolic value for Giuliani. "It tells us, at a minimum, that he's looking to keep his options open - and, at a maximum, [that] he's looking to interview people to run his Iowa operation," said Republican strategist Rich Galen, who helped run Iowa for President Bush's dad.

There's no need for lies to stop Rudy when the truth is bad enough.

Changes have been enacted since then.
I "think" I'm right about this: CA, MI, PA, all permit crossover voting. If I'm right, that means McCain and Guiliani will do very well in all the primaries in the crossover states.

Rudy is too liberal for my tastes. He might be able to convince me to vote for him if answers this question - "What kind of judges would you replace Sleepy Ruth and 86 yr old Stevens, and 70 yr old Scalia on the Supreme Court?"
This question shall determine his success in the GOP primary.

If you have a concern of how an American President is likely to act with the UN there is no one who remotely has a chance of being elected who is more likely to tell the UN to go screw itself.
Now you see for others that may disqualify him for reasons of not playing nice and being a dangerous hot head in international affairs.

I am aware of your argument. I read all the comments before I posted. I know your opinion and I know Sab's.
I tend to think Sabramerican's is more viable AT THIS JUNCTURE.
I am against trashing our own. The primaries are for vetting all the candidates. I will support whomever wins out GOP nomination, and if Hillary is their nominee, it'll take star power to beat her, IMO, as of NOW.

This was prolly the best speech ever in front of the UN.
Any Mayor of New york will say good thing's about the UN that bootlicker.
But using that word and givin all the anti-Rudy animus on this thread.
Shows how much the cultural far-right fears him.
If they had a candidate who could play varsity maybe they'd have better things to do then bash Rudy. As it stands now the far right seems to like Allen.
If the far right thinks Allen can take on Rudy....when he can't even out debate Barbara Boxer.... it's gonna be a looong 2 years for the 2-issue voters. \

Republican absolutists armed with lies about Rudy can very well keep him from the nomination and usher in the next Clinton era. Ah, so if we don't support Rudy, we are supporting Hillary. I see the silliness is starting early...LOL...
Why would it matter? It's hard to determine between the two who is actually more to the left.

Shows how much the cultural far-right fears him. 'The cultural far right'? Amazing how free so many feel to cast insults at conservatives here these days.
In any case, conservatives don't fear him, per se. Conservatives fear for what he might do to the republic.
If they had a candidate who could play varsity maybe they'd have better things to do then bash Rudy.
It ain't bashing if it's the truth. Fact is, he lands far to the left of most Republicans...and a good percentage of Democrats.
As it stands now the far right seems to like Allen.
No, as it stands right now the Washington establishment seems to like Allen.
...it's gonna be a looong 2 years for the 2-issue voters. \
Which '2-issues' would that be?
Abortion, immigration, national defense, defense of marriagee, tax reform, SS reform, spending reform, deregulation, property rights, freedom of religion and speech, national sovereignty....????

HAR! "Your conservatives" do not hold elected office! Sure they do. Thousands of 'my kind of conservatives' hold office all across America, at every level.
And you love to trash 'em.
Mystifying why you can do that on a conservative site like FR day in and day out.
