BALTIMORE (AP) -- A man who was being robbed in a shopping center parking lot shot and killed one of his attackers, police said Friday.
The incident occurred about 1:50 p.m. outside Cross Keys Village in Baltimore when a man was attacked while getting out of his car, Baltimore Police spokesman Officer Troy Harris said.
The man pulled out a gun and fired several shots at one of the attackers, who died a short time later at a local hospital. Two other attackers ran to a car and fled with another person.
The man, who was described by police as being in his 50s, was registered to carry a concealed weapon, police said.
"He was severely beaten but nothing life-threatening," Harris said.

Actually, there were four suspects. One has been found being treated at the local shock-trauma.

So, the armed citizen killed one and wounded one. And saved himself in the process.
Not bad for a day's work.

He had been robbed in the same shopping center before. That's when he went out an purchased a handgun and obtain a permit.
He had parked his car and was on the way to a bank, when another car pulled up in front of him in the parking lot. The occupants jumped out and started beating him.
He broke away and ran back to his car, grabbed the gun, and unloaded it at the robbers.

Sweet, I wish he got all 4 though.... but then we will get them next time. Send them up to Towson Town Center or White Marsh.

I'm surprised the "People's Republic of Maryland" would even let him have a gun to protect himself with.

When I read a post of this nature, I sure would like to know the type and calibre of pistol used. If I ever shot an attacker, I would like to see them drop.

I belong to the NRA and a local gun club. Right now, the person in the State Police who is in charge of permits is letting them go through. Probably thanks to our Republican Governor Ehrlich.

Sweet but sorry that he caught a beating. Checking one out and another into the hospital must help with the pain.
Get well soon, chief!

Local story. I'd just finished working on a project and settled in front of the tube. It was the very first item.

There was only a brief glimpse of the gun he used to defend himself. It was a semi-auto pistol and not a revolver.

"Shopping Center"? The village of Cross Keys is an upscale private little court yard surrounded by a dozen or so boutiques. I believe it was one of Jim Rouse's early projects, before
Columbia.
It's located in an old wealthy neighborhood near country clubs and private schools. It has three parking areas which in total have space for about, I don't know...a hundred cars?

There may be some improvement in the ability to obtain carry permits, but (1) it is very slight, and (2) there is no hope in Maryland of a right to carry law as guaranteed by the Second Amendment.
This poor fellow shot and killed someone in Baltimore City, as I read the story. However righteous a shoot we might think it is, he is in severe jeopardy from local law enforcement. This is all the more true if there is racial disparity, i.e., if he is white and the road kill is black. Baltimore is a cesspool, and its useless RAT mayor wants to be the next governor. Its local newspaper is one of the most despicable liberal rags in the country. God help the poor citizen that gets caught in that PC crossfire.

More proof that no place is really safe and that it is up to the citizen to protect himself.
Where were the cops when the guy needed them?

Get one that makes the biggest holes that you can still control enough to be accurate with. Some folks just can't get accurate with the big ones and a good medium size whole on target beats a big whole "high and outside".
With bullet holes and realestate its all "location location location" ;-)
