Email from Eagle Forum | 03-17-06 | Theodore R.

Posted on 03/17/2006 12:54:49 PM PST by Theodore R.

ON TUESDAY, REPUBLICANS WILL VOTE FOR THE HEART AND SOUL OF OUR PARTY. THIS IS PHYLLIS SCHLAFLY, PRESIDENT OF EAGLE FORUM. MANY OF YOU KNOW ME FROM MY YEARS WORKING FOR CONSERVATIVE AND PRO-LIFE CANDIDATES. TODAY I AM ASKING YOU TO SUPPORT JIM OBERWEIS FOR GOVERNOR.

REPUBLICAN VOTERS NEED TO RALLY BEHIND ONE CONSERVATIVE CANDIDATE. JIM OBERWEIS IS THAT CANDIDATE. HE WILL PROTECT THE SANCTITY OF INNOCENT LIFE, SUPPORT THE PRO-FAMILY MARRIAGE AMENDMENT, STAND UP FOR OUR 2ND AMENDMENT RIGHTS AND LEAD THE FIGHT HERE IN ILLINOIS AGAINST ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION.

IF THESE ARE ISSUES THAT YOU CARE ABOUT, THEN IT IS IMPORTANT THAT JIM OBERWEIS GETS YOUR SUPPORT. JIM IS THE ONLY CANDIDATE WHO CAN BEAT LIBERAL JUDY TOPINKA IN THE REPUBLICAN PRIMARY.

DON'T BE FOOLED BY OTHER CONSERVATIVE CANDIDATES WHO SAY THEY CAN WIN. A VOTE FOR ANYONE OTHER THAN JIM OBERWEIS IS A VOTE FOR JUDY TOPINKA.

PLEASE VOTE FOR JIM OBERWEIS FOR GOVERNOR IN THE REPUBLICAN PRIMARY ON TUESDAY, MARCH 21.

Well, conservatives must support Oberweis, but I suspect that many will sit home.

I don't like the all-caps either, but I didn't want to retype it.

Illinois conservatives need to rally around Oberweis.

Sen. Brady, I'm sorry, but for the future of Illinois, please step down. We need you in Washington.

Most word processors have a "convert case" feature. the following conversion (with some manual re-capitalizations) was done by WordPerfect X3:

You'd think by now, Phyllis Schlafly and those she associates with would realize ALL CAPS IS NEEDLESSLY DIFFICULT TO READ.

Surely even the Eagle Forum is no longer limited to 1970s teletypes.

Assuming your edits were right, WP seems to be lacking some basic "intelligence."

Conservatives who sit this one out need to give up the use of the term RINO, unless they're using it while looking in the mirror.

Not really, it just doesn't know that Oberweis and Schlafly are proper names.

Brady is an Illinois state Senator.

I stand corrected. I don't know why I said Washington when we have two very Democratic Senators in Washington.

I apologize and instead state that we need him in his capacity in Springfield.

I will be voting for Oberwies but I am afraid what we are going to get is Topinka. When that happens I'll be voting for Topinka in the general election beause anybody is better than what we've got.

I've lived in Illinois for a very long time and I am used to settling for the lesser of two evils.

At best, Topinka will be no better than Blago. I would rather have Blago than JBT win because we need a conservative party in Illinois. If Illinoisians are willing to take the bait of a liberal running as a Republican, and a thieving one at that, we will get more of the same.

If Tooooopinkovna is nominated and (may God forbid!) elected, you will be getting (and voting for????) the evil of two lessers. There will not be an Illinois GOP worthy of support for AT LEAST eight years. She will sabotage candidates worthy of support and direct sewers of corrupt money into the accounts of others like herself.

Better a Demoncrook than a Republicrook.

Better a Demonbabykiller than a Republibabykiller.

Better a Demon loving lavender "marriage" bills than a "Republican" doing so.

Better a Demontaxhiker than a Republitaxhiker.

Better a Demongungrabber than a Republigungrabber.

Better a Demon________ than a Republi________ (Fill in the blanks with the rest of the issues as to which Toooooopinkovna is no better and possibly worse than Blago).

Let decent ancestral Demonrat voters get nauseous over Blago rather than being confirmed in their ancestral party by the shameful leftism on social issue of Comrade Tooooopinkovna. That way, we get our party back, a normally socially conservative American in the governor's office in four years and probably take back the legislature in time for redistricting.

Using that logic, I would have to vote for Blagojevich and then for Hillary in '08 if McCain is her Republican opponent. Neither of which, I will ever do.

I don't know if your beard is as gray as mine, but voting for Comrade Tooooooopinkovna in November IF (big MSM-driven IF) she is nominated is like voting for the late Margaret Sanger: NEVER acceptable. It is party suicide.

No one suggested supporting the likes of Mrs. Antichrist for president. Then again, she won't be "opposed" by Lincoln Chaffee or Jumpin' Judas Jeffords or Comrade Judy. Those remote possibilities (thank you, national GOP primary voters for the remoteness) would, in the event of their nomination, suggest that a Third Party WOULD be viable (I cannot imagine such a possibility) and require scholarly evaluation.

Blago is rather pathetic but we aren't dealing with a potential Slick Willie there whatever Blago may hallucinate when he shaves each day.

Polls show that McCain would handily hand Mrs. Antichrist her hindquarters on a silver platter while driving her from public life. Sure, McCain's not perfect but there is no rational comparison to be made of McCain and Comrade Judy. McCain votes right on guns, social issues, taxes and offends occasionally on such as Campaign Finance Reform. I.e., McCain is caustic and occasionally not veryu bright on an issue or two. He is not a corrosive Demonrat in GOP drag like Comrade Judy.

You and I are doing an awful lot of unnecessary arguing since we are both voting (actually, I have already voted) for Oberweis in the primary and McCain if and when his time comes. All we are arguing over is the relative toxicity of the respective demerits of Blago and Comrade Toooopinkovna. Do you remember Democrat Glenn Poshard who ran against Lyin' Ryan in 1998? Don't you wish he had been elected instead of Ryan? Ryan was/is clean and a pillar of ideological purity compared to Comrade Judy. Then again Willie Sutton was more honest and and John Lindsay a better Republican (gag, barf, cough, bwaaaaagh! Cleanup in aisle 4!!!!).
