It's amazing how ignorant a person can be and still have a halfway shot at becoming president. Even among scientists who fully accept global warming theory, no one believes that major sea level changes will or even can occur in 30 years or less. If the temperature went up by the highest, outside estimate of 10 degrees C in the coming century, it would still take centuries for the Greenland ice cap to disappear.
That really is a puzzle, isn't it? And a sad one at that. It is, unfortunately, not a great endorsement of democracy. Fortunately, the collective wisdom tends to overcome the ignorance of a single presidential candidate.
